They say a picture is worth a thousand words. As a writer, that saying bugs me. And here is why. All of these lolcats and ecards that people are posting, are not as funny without the words. The words bring a new meaning to it. Just saying. But really, I was just looking for a reason to post this latest funny picture.
Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. I am a writer and a lover of words. Words are my tools. When put together perfectly they can tell a great story, inspire change, sell a product, make you cry or laugh out loud. This is a place for me (and maybe you) to geek out on words.

Never at a loss for words.
There are over a million words in the English language.
Which makes it pretty hard to pick your favorites. But over the years I have
gravitated to certain ones for different reasons. Here's how they rank to me
right now.
Most descriptive: Cantankerous
Fun to say: Sparkle
Smartest sounding: Ostentatious
Currently using: Galoot
Hardest to say: Entrepreneurial
New to me: Yesternight
Mouth workout: Chartreuse
Most used: Dude
Most underused: Please
Bring back: Groovy

Breaking news: F-bomb just made it into the dictionary.
I can’t say I am surprised. Once my dad knows a word like
that, I know it is no longer cool to say and that I should strike it from my
vocabulary immediately. But first, I am going to try out all the new words. Here
are the 15 new words that 2012 brought, used in a few sentences:
After a night full of weighing in on systemic
risk issues, dropping f-bombs and cloud computing, I was gassed and ready to
leave the gastropub. On the way back to the man cave, after successfully
getting rid of a mash-up earworm, I had an aha moment. A real game changer. Instead
of studying about copernicium or worrying about being underwater on my
mortgage, I grabbed my phone, downed an energy drink and scratched another
thing off the bucket list: sexting.
