Breaking news: F-bomb just made it into the dictionary.


I can’t say I am surprised. Once my dad knows a word like that, I know it is no longer cool to say and that I should strike it from my vocabulary immediately. But first, I am going to try out all the new words. Here are the 15 new words that 2012 brought, used in a few sentences:

After a night full of weighing in on systemic risk issues, dropping f-bombs and cloud computing, I was gassed and ready to leave the gastropub. On the way back to the man cave, after successfully getting rid of a mash-up earworm, I had an aha moment. A real game changer. Instead of studying about copernicium or worrying about being underwater on my mortgage, I grabbed my phone, downed an energy drink and scratched another thing off the bucket list: sexting.
